You will have the opportunity to utilise your German or Dutch language skills as you work directly with the Senior Director for Legal Counsel (EMEA). As part of a newly created vibrant EMEA legal team, you will be assisting with the review of tender documentation and the submission of tender responses, which relate to our supply of products, reviewing, advising and negotiating the terms and conditions for proposed instrument and consumable purchases.

Tasks and Responsibilities:
Drafting, negotiating and advising on agreements for the sale of our instruments, consumables, maintenance and consultancy services and software with Customers within the relevant district
Recording details of the agreements, once agreed and finalised, on Salesforce.com
Assisting with the review of tender documentation and submission of tender responses which relate to our supply of the above products
Evaluating the revenue recognition terms which are relevant to each order independently from the sales team and documenting the reasons for such evaluation appropriately
Assessing risks in a commercially focused, business-centric, manner in a way which facilitates the business
Drafting, advising on and negotiating framework contracts with the key customers within the relevant district
Drafting, advising on and negotiating other contracts as may be required to support the activities of the business from time to time (for example, sponsorship agreements, technology transfer agreements, reagent rental agreements etc.)
Taking ownership in relation to contract related matters for your designated sales team (“District”)
Facilitating a business partner relationship with internal stakeholders
Working closely with other departments (Sales, Sales Administration, Customer Services, Inside Sales, Business Development, Finance, Marketing) to effectively address identified issues and concerns
Attending District forecast calls, and other relevant District meetings as requested and approved from time to time
Taking a proactive approach, and to keep in close contact with the districts you support regarding progress with matters which they are working on
Assisting with the provision of training to relevant internal stakeholders with regard to the contracts process
Ensuring contracts are approved, and documentation is executed in accordance with Illumina policies and procedures
Supporting with legal matters within the jurisdictions in which you are working
Working in a co-operative, team-centric, manner assisting other team members who may need support
Preferred Experience & Skills:
A Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Law, Business, European languages or related fields
Fluency in German or Dutch is essential with additional European languages highly desirable
Knowledge of contract law
Experience in reviewing and drafting commercial contracts
Experience with SalesForce, or other CRM systems
Familiarity with the procurement process, which public institutions are required to adhere to, and the overall tender process
Ability to quickly grasp business objectives and handle multiple matters simultaneously
A strong service orientation, work ethic and positive can-do attitude
Strong analytical, communication and interpersonal skills
Strong organisational and drafting skills, with a keen attention to detail
The ability to work independently and to deal effectively with a broad range of personalities and cultures
